Sugar & Spice follows the development of each artists’ characters as they come to life. Be it heroines, villains or the artists’ alter-ego, Sugar & Spice delves into the creative process of each artist.
Jenn Brisson started her career as a classical animator, working as an art director and supervisor on feature films and children’s television series. Her art has introduced the world to a band of mischievous dolls and precocious toys created with a dark, yet playful element often painted on canvases created from items that have been lost or forgotten or objects that most people consider garbage.
Morgan Corkum is a twenty year old digital artist from Vancouver, who’s drawings reflect her interests in street fashion, fairy tales, and cartoons. She works in Photoshop, wielding a trusty Wacom tablet and pen and focuses on blending cute, sexy and a little bit of creepy into each of her characters.
Meghan Shaw is from Lakefield, Ontario. She has an Honours BA with a Studio Art Major from the University of Waterloo, where she realized that making serious art was not for her. Her love of drawing ponies and monsters and the realization that people get paid to make cartoons inspired her enroll in Cap Colleges’, Traditional Animation Program. Meghan works as an artist in the video games industry, mainly doing concepts and painting environments.
Rachel Petrovicz is an 18-year-old dreamer born and raised in North Vancouver. She picked up a how-to-draw-anime book when she was 10 and hasn’t looked back. Art has always been a passion and hobby, but only recently has it begun to take greater precedence in her life. She has no formal schooling. She aims to pen and illustrate a comic in the future for her own amusement.
