Creating a Painting with Pen and Ink Wash

Written by  //   //  Drawing, Workshops  //  No comments

Saturday, January 28th, 11:00am-3:00pm (with half hour break for lunch)

Learn how to use pen and ink to make beautiful and dramatic tone drawings. In this 4-hour workshop, you will learn about the materials and supplies, how to start a pen and ink sketch, pen techniques and ink wash techniques. You will also receive examples of pen and ink drawings to take home. There will be instruction and time to work on your project.

Bring your own photo or reference material (objects, art, images from magazines) to work from – something fairly simple with strong light and dark contrast. If in doubt, bring a few and we can pick the best one to use.

No pen and ink experience necessary; drawing experience is highly recommended.

Register by Monday, January 23rd. Cancellations made before the 23rd are refundable – cancellations made on or after the 23rd are not refundable, no exceptions.

Cost: $145 (includes materials – see note below), $75 without materials

Registration: Contact Nicole to sign up. Payment must be made in advance.
