Artist Statement

"My art is a journey of self-expression. Because I cannot hear, I rely on my other senses; sight, taste and touch. Therefore, everything that we take for granted intrigues me deeply. Take apples; we know they’re round, we know they’re usually red, yellow, or green and we know they can taste sweet or tart. But have you really looked at an apple? Do you really see how round it is? How red it is? How wonderful it actually tastes? I try to express how I see through my drawings and paintings, and show how beautiful everyday things really are."
