STUDIO 11 - Kirsten Aubrey - ELF Earth Loving Fabrics
ELF Earth Lovin’ Fabrics is an avenue to create and express beauty through textile arts. I hand dye each piece, combining my design and colour choices with attention to the details that emerge naturally through the dye process. The result is a completely unique and one of a kind fabric, which I then use to make garments, scarves, and household decor.
I am inspired by our natural environment, and strive towards a completely non- toxic studio practice. I use a combination of natural dyes such as Indigo and Madder and low impact synthetic dyes, which once processed, do not add harmful chemicals to our waterways. My passion for nature continues to push me to learn how to incorporate   environmentalism into art.
I have studied fine arts at Alberta College of Art and Design, and have recently completed a Diploma in   Contemporary Music Composition. I am self taught in the area of textile arts, and find all my artistic studies
relevant to creating beautiful fabrics which serve to inspire.
