Vanessa Currie email
Vanessa Currie has been working in international child protection and youth participation for ten years, with a focus on children affected by war, natural disaster and poverty.
Vanessa works as a consultant with the International Institute for Child Rights and Development at the University of Victoria, as well as various UN agencies, governments and international non-governmental organizations. This takes her to the Middle East, Asia and South America in support of communities rebuilding new systems focused on children and families. As well, Vanessa travels within British Columbia supporting Aboriginal communities in taking a lead role in designing and administering culturally-appropriate and strength-based child welfare services.
Vanessa has a Masters in International Child Welfare from the University of East Anglia in the UK, and a Bachelors in Sociology from the University of British Columbia.
