Our Mission

// Our Story

Where It All
Started

The Beaumont was established in 2004 by artist Jude Kusnierz, as an open and supportive environment for a wide variety of creative professionals.

Being a full-time professional artist for over a decade, Jude's goal was to create a unique environment where artists, like herself, could work in a beautiful, safe, reasonably priced, positive and upbeat environment, a place that would offer opportunity for growth, mentoring and cross-pollination of ideas and business.

"A place for the public to engage with art, learn from our artist community and appreciate creativity for what it brings to our lives."

A Place For
Creative Community

We exist to inspire and engage artists, designers, and creative small business owners with space, events and opportunities to work together, play together, share, learn, create and produce art and artistic projects and engage with the community around it.

It is a place for the public to engage with art, learn from our artist community and appreciate creativity for what it brings to our lives.

// What Drives Us

Our Mandate

  1. To create a community and environment where artists and small business owners can meet, work together, cross-pollinate with clients and socialize.
  2. To bring together artists, artisans, designers and small business owners as a united community to participate in public and private artistic events and opportunities.
  3. To advance the public's knowledge and interest in the Vancouver art scene through participation in events and artistic exhibitions.

Guiding
Principles

Having Fun

We strive to create an environment where members, artists and staff can explore creative opportunities and experiences through fun and engaging activities.

Inclusion

We pride ourselves in our commitment to providing a safe, welcoming, accessible and affordable space for everyone, and creating equitable opportunities for underserved and underrepresented communities.

Empowering Artists

We champion the development of artists and their businesses through collaboration, mentorships, workshops, exhibitions and promotional activities so that they can go on to inspire our communities and drive social change.

Diversity & Representation

We embrace new ideas, cultures, experiences and perspectives; and advocate for representation and vitality of all forms of artistic disciplines.

Respect & Accountability

We hold ourselves to the highest standard when it comes to demonstrating love and respect for the arts, the people we serve and work with, the land, and the environment.
